About Dafo Longjing tea

Dafo Longjing tea was created in the mid-1980s, because the quality of tea leaves in the iconic spot "Dafo Temple" is close to that of Xihu Longjing, so it got its name. The plucking of Dafo Longjing is rarely done with pure buds of tea green, commonly "one bud and one leaf" to "one bud and three leaves", and the frying process has techniques such as grasping, shaking, hitching, pressing, shaking, pushing, buckling, pressing, grinding, etc. The quality of the finished tea is very stable.

The difference between Dafo Longjing and Xihu Longjing can be distinguished by careful tasting. The tea tree varieties of both Dafo Longjing and West Lake Longjing are Longjing 43, and many of the tea gardens have similar elevation ranges, but the mountain wildness of Dafo Longjing is more pronounced than that of West Lake Longjing. The stability between each bubble of tea soup, especially from the "clear" and apparently long-lasting flavor, long aftertaste feeling, West Lake Longjing are slightly better. The delicate, multi-layered feeling of West Lake Longjing tea broth is more impressive than the straightforward, strong impact of Dafo Longjing.

How to brew

It is best brewed in a glass cup or a thin white porcelain bowl with a water temperature of 80~85℃, with both downward and medium pitching methods, and brewed for 1~2 minutes. If brewed in a lidded bowl, it will better gather the tea properties and bring out the color of the soup.
